Another Great Vacation At The Sandals Grand Antigua. With Celiac Disease I require a strict gluten free diet with no cross contamination. I was hoping to replicate the dining experience that Amit Sood, Executive Chief, and his staff had provided during my last visit in February 2011. Upon our arrival we meet with Chef Anthony Swaby. Anthony booked all of our reservations, including arranging for gluten free meals at the returning guests dinner, and then personally prepared and delivered lunch for us to Barefoot By The Sea. This was only the beginning of the special attention that Anthony showed us throughout our stay. At each meal our Hostess or Server upon being informed of my dietary condition and room number would have the Chef visit our table. Anthony personally prepared many of our breakfasts, lunches and dinners at Bayside, Mario's and Barefoot By The Sea. He provided snacks for our room. He even showed up at Kimonos to make sure that everything was going as planned when Chef Teddy Bear separately prepared my wonderful meal. Upon our departure he prepared a salad and provided snacks to take with us for our trip home. He continuously checked up on me throughout our stay making sure everything was to our satisfaction. Chef Nigel McLean also took wonderful care of us and prepared equally delicious meals at Bayside and Eleanor's. He checked up on us at the OK Corral when Chef Euelene Anthony prepared us a fantastic meal on our last night. The personal attention was more than I expected. Anyone with dietary restrictions who wants a wonderful Caribbean Vacation should consider the Sandals Grand Antigua. The property, beaches and accommodations are beautiful. There are plenty of activities and entertainment to keep you busy or you can just choose to relax. If anything is not to your satisfaction just let the the friendly staff know and they will go out of their way to remedy any problem. I hope I have the opportunity to visit many other Sandals Resorts and also return soon to Antigua. The Sandals organization really has their act together dealing with the special needs of their guests.

I have coeliac disease and must be on a gluten free diet. I met with the head chef upon arrival who informed us of all the restaurants, their locations, and operating schedules. He explained the gluten-free menu choices at each restaurant and what I needed to avoid. He then explained how my meals would be prepared separately to avoid any cross contamination. A gluten free meal was even prepared for me at the returning guests' dinner. I was even provided with gluten free snacks.

Throughout my stay my concerns and anxiety regarding my gluten free requirements became more and more alleviated. The meals that we were served were delicious and we were not restricted to a limited menu.

Any guests requiring a gluten free diet or other dietary issues should consider this resort. The Sandals corporate values of providing more than expected was evident throughout my stay. The personal attention to accommodate my dietary needs allowed me to enjoy all that this resort has to offer making my stay a wonderful experience.
