S'engolidor
Es Migjorn Gran, Menorca View On Map
Another from the local coeliac society website. This is a local speciality restaurant well off the beaten tourist track. Their menu reflects seasonal and local produce, so varies through the year. A place to go for a special occasion. I had pork fillet stuffed with two types of local sausage, and also a good selection of homemade dessert was available.

Liorna
Ferreries, Menorca View On Map
Tucked away in a side street and doesn't open till 1930. Well worth the effort however. I found this place on the local coeliac society website celiacosbaleares.org. They have local specialities, pasta and cornflour pizza bases, all gluten free. The pizza base is thin, crispy and holds together really well despite being so thin.

Hotel Suite Princess
Taurito, Gran Canaria View On Map
Before booking Hotel Suite Princess, I checked their website directly and was happy to see that they even noted that gluten free can be accommodated. I then checked TripAdvisor for gluten free mentions and I found a TON of positive reviews. I was reassured. Upon booking, I Facebook messaged and e-mailed the resort inquiring about their gluten free options. I was re-assured promptly that I would not go hungry and that they understood celiac disease. Phew. So off to the resort we went! I loved how every single one of their items were labeled with allergen info. Every single one!! Clearly the staff was well trained to understand allergies and was used to accommodating guests. Just check out the list of allergies they list! Impressive! I still checked with the chefs at each meal to make sure that each item was properly labeled though to be safe. Although this labeling system made me quite happy, one thing that worried me was that all of their meals were buffet style-uh oh, potential cross contamination. Luckily, I was greeted during our first lunch there by staff who offered to get me food from the back when needed. There was also a sign that said that if you have a severe allergy, please speak to a chef and they can prepare something seperately. For the most part, there were few gluten containing items so I was not too worried. For items near gluten containing items, I asked the staff to bring me some from the back.

Milano Eis cafe/restaurante
Costa Adeje, Tenerife View On Map
Ate here twice with daughter and son, who are both coeliac (one of them highly sensitive) and couldn't fault it. Prominent GF menu with very good range of choices, incl desserts, and the serving staff were really excellent: Fully GF aware, very friendly and polite, recognised us the second time we went back and had the GF menus ready, and generally couldn't have been more helpful. Can't recommend Milano Eis highly enough if you are Coeliac and want to enjoy a lovely worry-free GF meal out.

Excellent little restaurant open all day for breakfast and lunch with gluten free options. Soup, sandwiches and homemade cakes all gf. Open evenings Mon-Fri for gluten free meals. Enough choices to have a different main course every day for a fortnight. Starters and puddings too. And homemade chips too. Mostly traditional British fare, but delicious!! They also have a restaurant in Los Cristianos.

A wide choice of starters and mains on a separate gluten free menu. This includes all sorts of meat and fish dishes as well as gf pizza and pasta. Served with a choice of potatoes (even chips). A decent selection of desserts too ( if you have room). No gluten free beer, but I have suggested it to them.

Tommy Mels
, Chain View On Map
One of the strangest things when preparing to go to Madrid again was the explosion of hamburger places that have opened. There are tons of golden arches everywhere (with gf offerings) but other places exist with coeliacs in mind. Tommy Mel's is located in the main shopping area in central Madrid so it was ideal for me to visit. Before I came here I have to say I had noticed the diner feel of the website I just hadn't anticipated how American 1950's it would be. It is quite fantastic. Anyway objective number one for me was to locate the gluten free menu (menu para celiacos). I have to say while there wasn't a gluten free menu on the table it was brought without any dramas. I've got to say the menu was nice and clear and there was a good choice of things. While the menu was not extensive as the gluten menu it was pretty good. While there weren't any amazing gluten free desserts on the menu you are quite literally around the corner from Celiacoso so you won't miss out if you still have room that is.

I opted for a cheeseburger and chips - it was so nice to have chips on a gluten free menu. The menu has been designed with the help of FACE (Spanish Coeliac Society) so you know these chips are safe. My burger was slightly smaller than MrG's and it came with a nice flag on it denoting that it was gluten free - always good just in case your food goes astray! My food was really I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here and if I go back to Madrid I would have no qualms about going back again. Tommy Mel's is a franchise and there are lots of branches throughout Spain all of whom offer the gluten free menu.
