Pho
Soho, London View On Map
While on a recent walk around Angel my wife noticed on the sign outside Pho that they had Gluten Free options. We asked the staff and they said that most of the menu would be fine so we decided to dine there. We had a great meal with starters and a main. The Pho was huge, but I managed to eat and drink it all :-) I'll definitely be heading back to a Pho again.

PJ.s Bar And Grill
Covent Garden, London View On Map
PJ's Bar & Grill in London's Covent Garden is a great venue and one I've visited a number of times since being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease. On my last visit I noticed that the menu had been updated and contains even more choices for Gluten Free diners. We've always found PJ's to have a great atmosphere and good service and the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. I chose the Magret Duck Breast that is honey glazed and served with sweet potato dauphinoise, edamame, and a malbec jus. I followed this with the Peach and Macadamia Nut Praline Parfait with honeycomb crumbs which was delicious. I'm looking forward to my next visit already.

Le Manoir aux Quat Saison
Great Milton, Oxfordshire View On Map
Visited with friends for autumn gourmet tasting lunch. Absolutely fabulous! had telephoned in advance to request GF option and was given exactly the same (modified to be GF obviously) as my companions including hors d'oeuvres, home made bread and after meal choccies. Staff were lovely. The after meal afternoon was spent wandering the wonderful gardens, very romantic and well worth a celebratory/special occasion visit.

Alderley Edge Hotel
Alderley Edge, Cheshire View On Map
Posh hotel that holds gourmet evenings every season. One phone call assured me that they could make a 10 course banquet of taster dishes GF and they all were, including two puds. Same waiter served us all night and only needed telling once I was the GF customer. Lovely atmosphere, great place to stay too. Expensive but fabulous for special occasion

Iydea
Kensington Gardens, Brighton View On Map
I am loving Iydea who now have two venues in Brighton & Hove: Kensington Gardens in the very funky Lanes (more bustling cafe style but big meals) and Western Road , near Waitrose and Taj (more cafe/restaurant). Both have won awards in 2013 for numerous fantastic gluten free veggie food including lots of scrummy vegan options, they also do a juice bar and cakes too. Typical prices are £4.70-7.50 for a main plus two side choices plus a topping choice. staff are friendly too. Enjoy! It will make you wish you lived here.

Deli-cious Walton Deli & Coffee Shop
Walton on the Naze, Essex View On Map
We spotted on the sign outside that the Deli-cious Walton Deli & Coffee Shop in Walton on the Naze in Essex has Gluten Free products. While none of the fresh food is gluten free or suitable for Coeliacs, there was a shelf with a good selection of biscuits, chocolate, cakes and snacks. I picked up two bags of pretzels by Eskal that I hadn't seen before. One was a bag of normal salted pretzels, the other was yoghurt coated.

The Yanwath Gate Inn
Glenridding, Cumbria View On Map
We booked an early dinner on account of having had no lunch so were ready to eat when we arrived. It is a typical cosy pub/diner with interesting local ales on tap (which we sadly didn't sample). The menu was comprehensive but not overwhelming with a good selection of Today's Specials along with a large Tapas menu. I did my usual "I am a coeliac, could you advise me which dishes are safe for me?" only to be told that they used very little flour in their cooking as the chef himself is coeliac. You could have knocked me down with a feather! I chose squid in chilli with rocket and parmesan from their Tapas menu, which was cooked perfectly and quite hot. For seconds I finally settled on haunch of venison with wild mushroom jus and polenta fritters, which was very tasty indeed. I usually skip dessert for any number of reasons but was tempted to have a look and found that I had a choice of 3 desserts! - creme brulee with 2 types of biscuits - cheese cake with passion fruit - panna cotta with beetroot brownies and chilli chocolate sauce - all gluten-free!

Overall, we both thought it was a very good meal and wouldn't hesitate to go back (which we did!). They were extremely friendly and helpful and we hope that the full holiday season brings more customers than we saw.

Bodean's BBQ
Soho, London View On Map
After listening to people raving on about Bodean's BBQ in London - the ultimate destination for meat lovers - there was no way I couldn't check it out. Piles of slow-cooked pulled pork, stacks of sticky ribs and chunks of beef smothered in BBQ sauce is pretty much my idea of food heaven. After scanning their website I couldn't find anything that indicated what (if anything) on their menu was gluten-free. Determined not to let this keep me from my pork, I sent them a Facebook message which they quickly responded to, asking me for my email address so that they could send through a spreadsheet with their food allergy info on it. The Happenstance
St Paul's Cathedral, London View On Map
Last week, I was invited to review The Happenstance's new gluten-free menu. Located right next to the stunning St Paul's Cathedral, gluten-free offerings include flatbreads and burgers as well as an array of gluten-free desserts. On arrival, we were greeted by the lovely manager Sam who explained that he followed a gluten-free diet, which was a major driving force behind the gluten-free menu choices. Our waitress was absolutely lovely and recommended the Éric Louis Pinot Noir to go with our meal. Pinot Noir is my favourite red wine, and this one didn't disappoint. It packed a bit more punch than your average Pinot, but was super-fruity and the perfect accompaniment to a big, fat, juicy beef burger. Full Review Here

The Singing Kettle
Walton on the Naze, Essex View On Map
While having a walk through Walton on the Naze in Essex we spotted a sign in the window of The Singing Kettle cafe/restaurant/tea room that they had Gluten Free meals and cakes available. We asked what was available and were told that cod could be battered with gluten free batter, the curry was also OK, as was a minced beef bake. Unfortunately on our visit there weren't any gluten free cakes available. As it was a drizzly day out I opted for a jacket potato with cheese, this was served with a nice little side salad and was a good lunch. Worth a visit if you're in Walton on the Naze.
