I stayed also for a week at the Marriott in Puerto Vallarta and we had the breakfast buffet, and you can again see yourself how they do everything and decide if that is something you can eat. the only thing were the ""tamales"". They a normally made with corn, but i wanted to make sure ey didnt use any wheat flour in the process, so I asked. They didnt know in the kitchen because it was one of the 3 or 4 things that they buy already cooked. But they called the producer and the cook himself came to me 10 minutes later and told me that the cook thatmakes them guaranteed him that there is no wheat flour in them and he specializes in cooking that, so there was no wheat at all in his kitchen. I think it was very friendly to find that out for me in a buffet where they could just offer me any of the other many many things they knew had no wheat.

Anyway, if in Mexico I would highly recoment you dont ask for ""gluten free"" meals, but ask them (if possible) to tell you the ingredients or ask in the kitchen if any wheat is involved at all. They get very comcerned and will try to find out for you.
