Indigo at One Aldwych
Soho, London View On Map
We had lunch at Indigo at One Aldwych in Covent Garden. Their lunch and dinner menus are entirely gluten and dairy free, and the restaurant has been awarded Coeliac UK Gluten Free accreditation. Keep in mind that this hotel restaurant has a breakfast menu and tea service that are not entirely gluten free, but I asked a lot of questions about their protocols to prevent cross contamination, and felt comfortable dining there. Their complimentary bread was incredibly light, and delicious dipped in the olive oil it was served with.
For lunch, I ordered the beer battered day boat fish with hand cut chips and crushed peas. I loved everything on my plate. The fish was crispy, and not greasy like some fried fish can be, and it was delicious dipped in the vinegar that it came with, or eaten with a bite of peas. I enjoyed the chips with ketchup, but skipped the tartare sauce this dish is usually served with.
We noticed that other tables around us were enjoying the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tea service, which is not entirely gluten free. For dessert, I asked if I could get scones with clotted cream and jam, which is part of their tea service, and they were willing to accommodate me. The scones were decent, but not great, but their jam and clotted cream were amazing.
My daughters both ordered hand rolled potato gnocchi with rainbow chard, broad beans, and confit lemon. They must have liked them, because they disappeared quickly, and I didn't even get to taste a bite.

Leggero
Soho, London View On Map
We had dinner at Leggero, a 100% gluten free Italian restaurant that used to be called La Polenteria. I liked my orange and ginger water, and their homemade hemp bread with butter. We also ordered homemade foccaccia with mozzarella and parma ham, which my whole family enjoyed. We shared an order of gnudi, which are ricotta and spinach balls served with fresh tomato sauce. They were incredibly light compared to gnocchi, and I would love to try my hand at making them at home.
My daughter was happy with her handmade sorghum tagliatelle with bolognese sauce, one of her favorite pasta dishes to order when we eat out, because I do not make it at home. My husband loved his handmade sorghum pasta with asparagus and avocado cream, pecorino cheese and egg.

Farmstand
Covent Garden, London View On Map
We had dinner at Farmstand, a 100% gluten & dairy free fast casual restaurant in Covent Garden. For my main dish, I picked the poached salmon with miso, and for sides, I chose the peas with asparagus, and new potatoes with garlic and pesto. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and tasted very fresh, and I liked both of my sides. For dessert, I had a brownie, which was super fudgy, and not overly sweet.
My daughters both ordered lamb meatballs with smoked paprika and tomatoes, with sides of new potatoes with garlic & pesto, and fava beans with roasted peppers & pumpkin. We all enjoyed our meals, and everyone shared with my husband, because we wanted a light dinner after having a big lunch earlier in the day. The prices are very reasonable at Farmstand, and I love their food philosophy. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Niche
Islington, London View On Map
We had lunch at Niche, a 100% gluten free restaurant in Islington, near the Angel Tube Station. I ordered their NFC (Niche Fried Whicken) basket, with a side of skinny fries. I loved the spiced crumb on the chicken, and the BBQ dip it came with. The skinny fries were great too. For dessert, I had a bowl of cinnamon ice cream, which was delicious.
My husband and daughter ordered the Scotch pie, which is filled with mutton (lamb) and vegetables in a lemon, mint, and coriander enriched gravy. It was served with sides of creamy mash, steamed curly kale, and onion gravy. I tried a bite, and thought it was very good. My meal at Niche was probably my favorite of any I ate in London, and I would definitely go back the next time we are in the city.

Beyond Bread
Multiple Locations, London View On Map
Beyond Bread, a 100% gluten free bakery with several locations in London. I chose a cinnamon bun, which was very good, and my husband picked a pain au raisin, which he liked. My daughter had a chocolate muffin, which she was not thrilled with, but my husband finished it and said it was great.
Our second full day in London, we walked to the Beyond Bread in Islington to have scones for breakfast, only to be told that this location does not carry them. I was not in the mood for something too sweet, and I was craving fruit, so I ordered a raspberry muffin, which I really enjoyed. I have heard their chocolate & custard danishes are amazing, but I did not try one.

The Cut
Waterloo, London View On Map
A friend of mine recommended The Cut in Waterloo to have a great menu with lots of gluten-free choice, so it had been on my list of go-to's for a while. Luckily, some of our friends were organising a bit of a catch up reunion and this place happened to work for everyone, so I got to give it a go. The Cut is part of the Young Vic theatre in Waterloo. It has a really cool vibe with lots of long communal tables and a lovely terrace outside. We were sitting on the terrace and it was a really warm night, so it was perfect
I'm a big fan of rice, especially when it's risotto, so when I saw the 'risotto of the day' I had to give it a try. The risotto of this particular day turned out to be butternut squash with feta cheese - so good. The rich feta melted into the risotto and was topped with sunflower seeds to give it that extra crunch.
The Cut's full menu is great at identifying the gluten-free options with GF clearly marked against each dish that is suitable. I'd definitely recommend giving them a try and booking a table when you're in the area.

Redemption Bar
Shoreditch, London View On Map
Redemption Bar only serve vegan, sugar-free, gluten-free, alcohol-free food and drink - the healthiest of dinner's out I've had in a while! It felt great visiting and knowing I had eaten nutritious food that was good for me - but at the same time I couldn't get over the fact that the meals still looked so indulgent!
I ordered the Asparagus Black Rice Risotto - English asparagus and summer peas with Italian nerone black rice topped with salsa verde, pecan nut 'parmesan' and rocket. It was absolutely delicious and the portion was huge!
Dessert was my absolute favourite part of the meal. We ordered a raw cocoa and cashew butter mousse. It came topped with pomegranate and a slice of fresh orange. The mousse was so rich and the fruit was perfect as it broke up the richness in between bites. My visit made for a really fun evening and I really want to go back and try the Lime & Coconut Cheesecake which I hear is absolutely stunning!

1 Lombard Street
City Of London, London View On Map
1 Lombard Street is a lovely London brasserie in the City. I visited here with friends during a dinner catch-up one Friday night. I found it has a fun atmosphere (albeit quite smart) and has the most impressive glass domed roof to gawp at whilst you eat!
Always a good start when you sit down at a restaurant and mention you're gluten-free - the waiter went away and brought back with him some gluten-free bread, this always makes me hopeful that the menu will be equally as accessible!
This brasserie has a varied menu, ranging from their casual bar menu, to the full on brasserie restaurant menu. They are also able to adapt some dishes to be gluten-free if you ask for it, although I just went for the naturally gluten-free ones this time round. I ordered a starter of creamy goat's cheese stacked with beetroot and rocket, with a delicious jam and fresh blueberries. For my main, I went for the mushroom risotto. Such a comforting and warming meal. The risotto was completely gluten-free and the woodland mushrooms added a nice flavour to it. Needless to say, there wasn't any room for dessert this time round.
1 Lombard Street is a nice little restaurant to catch up with friends or go on a date if you are looking for something nice and central in the City.

The Jones Family have a fantastic gluten free offering, with a separate menu for gluten free diners to choose from. The team are very friendly and happy to offer advice or answer any questions on the ingredients (I love the steaks here with a cheeky cocktail or two!)
